Cooking with grass-fed beef

Our grass-fed cows get a lot of exercise; they roam and forage, and the resulting meat is lower in fat. It looks and tastes differently from what you may be used to.

Roasts and stew meat do best with "low and slow" moist-heat methods for cooking, like the crock-pot or pressure cooker. The steaks are best medium rare. Our ground beef makes the world's best hamburgers, no matter how you make them.

Why buy local?

When you support the family farms in your region, you keep more of your own money in your own community. You reduce the need for fuel to transport produce across the country (or even the oceans). Instead of enriching industrial farming, you support family farmers who have a personal interest in conservation and preservation.

The beef we sell accumulates about 120 food miles total, which is significantly less than most grocery store meat. Grocery store organic meat often ends up traveling farther!
